A California resident’s 49-year-old mother was visiting from Howrah, India when she was killed in a car accident on Aug. 7. Her 31-year-old son was driving the vehicle when he suddenly swerved into oncoming traffic. The cause of the auto accident was still under investigation at the time of the report.
The Woodside car accident occurred on Skyline Boulevard, just south of La Honda Road, where the son was driving his parents on a sightseeing tour. Just before 7 p.m., he lost control of his Toyota Camry and swerved into the oncoming lane. The Camry collided with a Chevrolet Monte Carlo, causing the Camry to overturn. The son, unhurt in the car accident, was able to pull his 61-year-old father from the overturned vehicle. The father suffered moderate injuries and was taken away by helicopter to Stanford Hospital. The mother was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators are looking into the cause of the accident, but they say that it doesn’t appear that alcohol was involved. The driver of the Chevrolet suffered only minor injuries, but there has been no word on how the father is doing at the hospital.
A car accident is a serious danger to all drivers on California roads. A car accident victim can suffer from severe injuries, permanent disability or even death. An experienced personal injury motor vehicle accident attorney may be able to help in the recovery of compensation for the negligent actions of another driver. An attorney could investigate the accident and may help to determine fault and the proper measure of damages.
